SOS Schools: Gitega Primary School

The SOS Primary School, which opened in 1996, has about 300 pupils in 6 classes. It is one of the top-rated primary schools in the province.

There is also an SOS Nursery School for 85 children. It is heavily over-subscribed - 70 applications for only 25 places. Staff at the SOS Nursery School also run workshops for teachers at other nursery schools.
